Is Facebook Getting Less User-Friendly-

Facebook is beginning to do much more things to cater to businesses, but is it becoming less user-friendly within the process- Now that the corporate is public, it’s going to must keep investors happy, and which means creating wealth hence the entire advertising-related changes we’re seeing. This week, Facebook stock hit its lowest point to date, which CEO Mark Zuckerberg has apparently found to be quite painful. i ponder what additional monetization strategies are in store for Facebook’s future.

When Facebook released its first earnings report last month, it announced that it it has 955 million active users, with 552 of them using Facebook each day. Facebook’s great challenge might be to maintain those numbers growing, instead of slipping, while also finding more tips on how to generate income off of them. Hopefully, for users’ sake, they’ll be capable to do it in ways in which aren’t annoying.

Do you observed Facebook is getting less user-friendly, or is it nearly as good as ever- Let us know what you’re thinking that within the comments.

Facebook is currently testing a feature that would turn off a number of users promoted posts within the News Feed from pages which you don’t “like” and that not even your pals “like”. If this moves beyond the testing phase, you’ll start seeing more ads for your News Feed, and for things which you quite possibly haven’t any interest in or perhaps a social connection to.

“Starting soon, we’re beginning a terribly small test a good way to allow marketers to advertise page posts to people beyond their fans inside the news feed,” Facebook is quoted as saying.

A WebProNews reader commented at the story, “i’m finding myself more an more annoyed with facebook lately. I barely ever use it anymore. That’s only 1 more explanation for me to never log in again.”

We recently reported on another promoted posts-related feature that had some users upset. This was one of those post that looks within the News Feed, and shows you when a number of of your mates “likes” a undeniable page, and shows a contemporary post from that page. Counting on the post, these friends might not always be happy with the display.

At the time, ZDNet shared the best example:

Just because your mates “liked” drugstore.com, doesn’t necessarily mean that they need for use to assist peddle lube.

Considering the hot Chick-fil-an issue, it’s not hard to assume those who can have enjoyed eating the restaurant’s sandwiches ago and “liked” their Facebook page, only to have Facebook saying that they “like” it, while displaying a “recent post” that she or he politically disagrees with. Chick-fil-A, incidentally, became one of the most fastest-growing social brands on Facebook following that whole thing.

These are only a few examples of where we’re seeing Facebook seemingly putting business interests above users’.

Some users simply aren’t pleased with the direction Facebook’s interface goes. The corporate continues to be inside the technique of getting the Timeline pushed out to all users, and as this continues, there’s still an excellent amount of bitter reaction to the main design changes. That’s to not say there aren’t a lot of users who actually prefer the timeline, but some people just flat out don’t love it. It doesn’t actually matter so far as Facebook is bothered, however. All users need to have the Timeline by sometime q4, the corporate recently told us.

Some users are only plain bored. a pair months ago, Reuters and Ipsos ran a poll finding that 34% of users (greater than a 3rd of respondents) find Facebook boring. These users are spending less time on Facebook than six months prior. Considering the poll itself is over two months old, i ponder how the numbers have trended meanwhile. In accordance with Reuters’ these users complained that Facebook is either “boring,” “not relevant,” or “not useful”.

Luckily, third parties are continuing to locate the right way to keep lots of Facebook users interested. It’s a very good thing Facebook isn’t treating developers the manner Twitter is. The Timeline, despite those that hate it, caters to this quite nicely. Nonetheless, Facebook apps have always annoyed some users in a single way or another. It wasn’t all that in the past once you could hardly get at the site without seeing a plethora of updates about what people were doing on Farmville.

Of course, in case you have just about a thousand million active users, you’re never going to delight everyone. There’s always someone yearning for the times before Facebook even unfolded beyond school campuses.
