Off page SEO, what does it mean to you?

Off Page SEO or Search Engine Optimization is to try and improve the positioning of your page in search engines. The only thing you can do on your site to increase your ranking is to build more links. More links usually leads to a better Google PageRank and will improve your ranking in search engines.

When you try to get more links you have to think about quality, not all links are created equally, and links to sites of poor quality will have little or no impact on your ranking. The best types of links you can get is from reliable sources such as universities, newspapers and even some first-class directories like DMOZ and Yahoo.

It is sometimes difficult to discern the good from the bad. Here are some questions you should ask yourself when you look at sites or pages to get links from:

* Is this site in any way relevant to what I do?

* Does this site have a problem with linking to low quality sites?

* Will this site, deliver good quality traffic to your site?

* Does it currently have a good page ranking in search engines?

* Does this site have a lot of links to it from other sites?

Another important factor is how the sites link to you, sites that use rel = nofollow tag to link to you will not help you.
